Calling all owners of dogs who sleep outdoors!
I'm having trouble getting Pedro to bed at night. The dogs come inside in the evening and go to bed when I do, but Pedro doesn't seem to want to leave the living room and go outside to the kennel (I don't blame him!)
I've tried bribery which worked up to a point but last night we were back to his old tricks again. If I drag him out of bed by the collar we make it as far as the hallway before he rolls over on his back and lies there with his tail between his legs. If I ignore him, he gets up and slinks back to bed. If I drag him, he turns it into a game and starts mouthing me.
That's just to get him outside, then it's another 15 metres or so to the back of the yard where the kennel is. Lately he's been doing the last leg in return for a treat, but I'm sure as it gets colder he'll start being difficult again.
I'm sure there's something obvious I'm missing.....but I'd really like not to have to manhandle my 18kg dog down the hall every night!
