DA, I'm right here with you honey. I'll be with you every step of the way Darling.
Don't do "mental gymnastics" over why you stopped. You'll do your head in. Just give yourself a BIG pat on the back for taking the first step.
Drink plenty of water with lemon juice in it to cleanse your mouth & body.
Peel some carrots, cut them into snack sized pieces & have them in a container ready to munch on. If not carrots, then celery or something else that's fairly low in calories & is healthy.
Get some fibre into you. Nicotine is a diauretic (?). Without it, you'll be so clagged up & cranky in no time mate ... and then you'll REALLY want a cigarette. Get just a little more exercise ..... "Logan !!! Want to play with Mummy in the back yard ?"
When you get an "urge" ..... don't panic. It only lasts for a few minutes. Stop what you're doing (if driving, pull over), close your eyes, take a very deep breath, hold for as long as you can & then slowly release. This will release the endorphins you need to piss the craving off. Keep repeating this breathing pattern until the urge passes. And then give yourself a big pat on the back, cause that's one cigarette you didn't have girl.
So glad you started this thread. It will be like a"diary" for everyone else who's in the "grip" & wants to stop. Notice I didn't say "give up". You haven't "given up" a thing DA ... except being a slave to nicotine.
