Poppy got out today! Its not the first time but its the first time I have come home to find her GONE! It was VERY scary and I don't need a lecture about it. Only supportive and helpful advice!
Poppy is getting out under the fence near where our bins sit. The bins sit on the outside and there are stones all around that side of the house. She dug away the stones, we put up plastic mesh so that even if she dug the stones away she still couldn't get out. That lasted a few weeks. No escapes. Then she must of found a way to get UNDER the plastic mesh. So we put her metal dog pen against the fence. Problem solved. Or so we thought. THEN she dug away the stones in another spot, right next two the old spot so we unfolded the metal dog pen and zip tied it to the fence. ALL THE WAY around where the stones are.
Thing is she managed to get out AGAIN at the original spot! Where the plastic mesh and metal fence was.
I know its because shes bored. But I don't know how to combat that. She has lots of different toys out there, a few soft ones, a few chewy ones, a rope and ball one and the kong. We do bones a few times a week although admittedly I have run out and need to get some more.
Is there anything else I can do to stop the boredom?
We will obviously be securing the fence where she got out too.
