Poor Lex, I hope he will be ok now, it seems he was very lucky considering it could have been much worse. I hope you are going to be ok as well - even though the result was bad, at least you can learn from it.
My mum had to save a little Jack Russel that was tied up in a boat once, it had jumped over the side and was hanging there - the dogs family were sitting in their car with loud music playing and didn't notice the dog or my mum.
Well BlackLexDog, I must admit I cringed when I read your OP, and gave you an imaginary swat across the head.
But we all do things we wish we could change; we all make bad mistakes we wish we could erase. If we didn't we'd all be God I guess.
As I remember you commenting on your financial situation in the past, I take my hat off to you for doing everything you possibly could to raise the funds for Lex's veterinary care. That was no small amount to raise!
All the best to you and Lex, I'm sure he'll recover with flying colours and be romping around again very soon.
just rang the vet up to double check my booking for this after noon at 6 and they had no idea what i was talking about. needless to say when i asked for the 6 oclock time slot, it was taken....
But im booking in for 5.45 so its not like im losing anything, and apprantly the 1st consultation after surgery is free, so ill be making sure ill hit them up for that .
He must be so anoyed being cooped up in the garage, but i really dont want any futher infection, as the vet told me were the bone shore off was down to the marrow thus leaving it as a high risk of infection.. He gets his next 4 hourly playtime at 4 o'clock
Just read this thread, so relieved for you and poor Lex that he is on the road to recovery. I hope anyone that thinks tying their dog to a ute is okay will read this and rethink. I see it all to often living in a rural area and I cringe every time.
Good on you for finding the money any which way you could - there are many who wouldn't do that, so I too doff my hat to you.
Give Lex cuddles from me and the gang.
In My Home Dog Minding
Lex's visit went great last night they said where the toe was amputated is looking great, it's just the toe next to that there keeping an eye on as it is inflamed and red, they put ?honey? on the sore toe and rebandaged but my knowledge is that an inflamed ingury means it's healing it self so he is well on his way to recovery. Booked in for a bandage change and check up in 3 days (friday).
His new bandage is blue
Will post up pics soon..
That is so good that Lex is coming on nicely, and a big yes to the honey, natures own cure of most things, it probably wouldnt be the honey off a super market shelf, but (cant think of the name of it, it starts with "M").
He deserves big cuddles & good on you for getting him fixed up too.
i love my puppy
I think he's saying in this one "Can you please get out of my sunlight" lol
