We have had 3 weeks off for the arrival of our 2 Staffy pups, now 16 weeks old. They sleep in the kitchen in a shared crate (we have 2 crates but they insidt on sleeping together and it works fine so far). In another week and a half we shall be returning to work. On just one or two days max (at the weekends) they will be alone from 6.30am until 6pm and I am starting to worry about what we shall do with them. My OH says we could put a crate outside on our patio, which is mostly protected from the rain. Can dog flaps be inserted into glass panels? Can you get them big enough for Staffy's when they are fully grown?
We have the possibility that a neighbour could come to spend an hour with them and feed them through the day but is it cruel to think of doing this?
Outside they eat all sorts of bits in the garden and I am so worried about it now. Have you any advice please?
I think an enclosed protected kennel is a must if they are to be outside but is it crazy at this age to have them outside alone for so long?
