As many of you know, Pretty girl (shortened to pretty and named before my father in law got her) was his new working dog. I fell in love the moment I saw her. I wanted her so much but dared not ask (he tells me now all I had to do was ask)
Pretty had a split first season and he missed the second part and she fell pregnant to his pedigreed stumpy tailed ACD.
That is when I stepped in and said that's it, she comes to me for nutrition and whelping. She was only 3 weeks from whelping. This was October last year.
Looking back I really think she knew about my cancer before I did, always smelling breath, nosing my chest where the tumour was/is. I was diagnosed middle of December.
She has been constantly monitoring me, with me and is especially worried on chemo days.
She is inside at night, the pups in their big pen and snug dog box.
The three can not be free outside together as she takes them away up the farm.
Hubby always lets them out in the mornings as their energy and exhuberance would have me on the ground at the moment.
Today, Jodi has gone to the vet for desexing.
Bandit was left alone in the pen and I went to let him out.
I took Pretty with me as I want to see if she sticks around with one pup. Just a little experiment lol.
Bandit came out of the pen his joyous, exuberant jumping self.....she pinned him to the ground, no growls, just jumped on him.
He got away, thinking it a game, came running to me I heard the thumping, lol. as I was walking to the house.
I looked around and she had pinned him again, watching me intently as I walked in the back door.
I am rather amazed. As soon as I was in she let him go and they are both off playing outside.
