After spending some time training Pipi agility at Paws In The Park I have become suddenly very interested in agility.
The problem is, I am 99% sure we do not have an agility course in Albury/Wodonga. (The Paws In the Park agility course was brought down from a dog shop, which I do not not which one it was).
So, the alternative is to create my own agility course, here in my backyard. I have been looking through old boxes of sporting things and have some stuff that could do the job.
I have 6 cones and 3 weaving poles. All of these I used when I did home soccer training. All that would be left is the tunnel, sea-saw, frame and the hurdles.
I do not think I could put together a see-saw or a tunnel but the frame and hurldes I could do.
I had in mind of using an old ramp which my brother used when jumping skateboards etc, it looks just like a frame, so I can use that.
Regarding hurdles, I have had a long hard think about this and had a look around in the back yard earlier. Do you think I could make a hurdle or two by using a couple of old broom sticks that we have and placing them on top of 2 or 3 bricks on each side? It should make a hurdle high enough for what the Toy group require.
Is this a good idea? It would cost me nothing as I have mentioned above, I have half the equipment.
If it isn't such a good idea, does anybody have any ideas about prices for the equipment?
I do know that I can purchase a tunnel at Pet Goods Direct for $199 and it is 3 meters long.
If you cannot buy see-saws etc, could somebody suggest to me how to build the equipment or if you know of any shops online that sell this stuff.
Thanks in advance.
