I used frontline for the old puppy dog for 10 kg maltese cross, the other two german shepherd puppy's about 20 kg's dosage, never worked, I think this is the third time I've used this on them, usually I would do them every month, so this Friday I may change the formula to another, as I am thinking they have grown a resistance to it or something, I'm not sure what but, any advice would be most appreciated, the puppy dog maltese is 4 yrs old, and the german shepherd male and female are 6 mths; 30kg's male long haired, and female 23 kg's short haired.
'Marthar5' - quite a few people on here use Comfortis – so a couple of links for you:

I don't use anything on my pup and have been lucky over the years to be not bothered at all with fleas.
Capstar is another one you could look at. The second link I put up will have information on it.
Frontline didn't use to work for my dog either when I lived in a place that fleas seemed to really like. Nor did Advantage. Comfortis worked much better. Still took 3 applications before I didn't see any fleas at all anymore, but it reduced their numbers significantly from the start and then kept them away eventually. I was told by a vet it generally takes 9 months of treatment to get rid of all fleas. I used to only treat in summer, but now I will continue all year.
I swear by comfortis as well. Once i got on top of them i only ever need to redose if they pick one or two up from other dogs.
The most important thing is to feed your dog before the tablet...... every time i didn't do this my dogs would vomit. And because it isn't cheap that's the last thing you want.
Lime sprinkled around dirt areas helps a lot aswell.
I actually crush the Comfortis and add it to the dogs' food. Because my dog doesn't like the taste of it and they're too big to force down their throats.
OK. Here comes a reasonably standard plea for help. Frontline isn't working (and hasn't done for years on my old dog - so I don't know why I even gave it an chance). I've just tried comfortus for the first time, I flea comb and check once a week, we wash all bedding in hot water (about 95 degrees) at least every 2 weeks (I did it all today - human and animal). Tonight I've found fleas on the couch and dog.
Comfortus was given on the 15th feb. Can / should I do it more often? I do also have some capstar which should I give tonight?
Bath tomorrow, flea bomb scheduled for next weekend. We can also follow up at the end of the month as we're away then too.
He've very fussy in terms of what he can and will eat so something like garlic or yeast isn't an option. What else can I do to stop the fleas. They really are the one part of pet ownership I can't stand.
I can pick lime up (for the yard) tomorrow if its worth a shot.
Panoramis in peanut paste, effective but not cheap.
