Thread: Amstaff with Other Animals

    Question Amstaff with Other Animals

I'm considering getting an Amstaff pup in the next few months.

I have a ferret who has free roam of the house every day.

I wouldn't leave the Amstaff and the ferret alone together, but there will be times when they are both in doors at the same time. Should I be worried about this?

I will be getting the Amstaff at 8 or 10 weeks old. Don't know the sex.

I've researched a lot of different dog breeds. I was leaning towards German Shep, Rottie at one point an English Bulldog but I've wanted an Amstaff for years and really do love them.

So long as you introduce them slowly and with patience I see no reason why there would be a problem.

Be aware though that it may turn out your dog has a prey drive in which case things will become a bit more difficult. Remembering though that prey drive is not a breed problem, its a dog trait

I would only be worried if the dog you get is unfriendly towards other animals.

Just introduce them slowly and you should be fine.

    All the best.

We used to have a rabbit who got on with our dogs, he used to get time in the yard with the dogs.
