This isnt regarding banjo but my sisters ridgeback x dalmation boy who is about 18months old.
Just after he got desexed he killed a chicken and now he is constantly trying to get at them and kill them. The first time he did it he actually started to eat the chicken! ( he is definitely well fed) he always tries to hurt the goat but it sticks up for itself.
I heard that if a dog kills a chicken once they will always 'have it in their blood' so to say and it is impossible to train them off it..
Is this the case? if not can you please give me some ideas of ways to stop it that I can let my sister know?
He is a gorgeous, otherwise well behaved giant and my sister has been put in a position that if he doesnt stop he will have to find a new home for him or keep him on the chain all the time.
Putting the chickens away is not really an option as she lives on my nans property and she is unfortunitly a b1tch who gives her chickens right of way.
