Well obviously I'm the odd one out here regarding trust of a dog.
I will not trust a dog that I haven't raised from puppyhood UNTIL such stage as I am certain my trust is warranted. However, any dog that gains that after a period of time, or one brought up from young with me, yep I trust with my children 100%.
I am talking about my children though. Look, TBH if I ever had a dog I couldn't trust in the yard or bedroom or wherever with my own kids then I wouldn't have a bloody dog.
Come to think about it, if that was the case then I wouldn't have had more than one kid either! Lol.
Having said that, my kids are trained to a fair degree on all aspects of dog training and how to relate, command, what to do, what NOT to do. If you all think I'm taking a risk, so be it, you are entitled to your opinions, just as I am.
In my lifetime, dogs have saved us, not the other way around. My dogs have always been willing to lay their life on the line for us, not take it.
