I think SBTs and human boys aren't much different! They are motivated by food and when they want something they give you the look!
Thanks for the update, sending a special hug for Ralph.
Supersonic hearing...yep, applies to my heeler mob too.

Well we nearly lost Ralph last night
I was really tired so went off to bed just after 10.00 pm, Ralph was asleep on the lounge and hubby was going to stay up for a while. Been in bed a few minutes when I heard hubby yelling "Ralph, Ralph, Ralph", came running out and hubby is on the kitchen floor with Ralph and Ralph isn't breathing, he is asphyxiating! So I grab the syringe and Saline solution plus a small tube the vet gave us. I put some saline into Ralph's tracheostomy hole and then pushed the tube in (it's a very thin tube) just a couple of cms, but didn't get a very big cough reflex, so used more saline and the tube again and got a big cough reflex and then started patting Ralph on the back till we got full coughing reflex and Ralph started to breath! Thank god!
Poor little Ralph apparently had jumped off the lounge after I had gone to bed, hubby was on the computer, but at first didn't realise Ralph was having trouble breathing, then looked across and saw him on the ground struggling, that's when he started yelling and I got up! I stayed up till 3.00 am and then Ralph went to bed with me. I think I got about an hour sleep, but Ralph seems fine.
What it was, was a mucus build-up and when he jumped off the lounge the stickiness of the mucus glued his windpipe closed. Will be keeping a very close eye on him today. Don't want him to go by asphyxiation, this would be the worse way, struggling to breath!
I am so thankful that I knew what to do and wasn't affraid to get the job done!
Oh hell Nic
I am glad you were able to help Ralph and that he seems ok today
Just so glad that Ralph is okay again. We know his time is limited, but just don't want him to go that way!
