Alrighty - I've completed my first go at TOT!!!
I took Dora for an hour long walk to tire her out, so when we came back, she flopped down onto the carpet and started to fall asleep.
After I ate my dinner, I took her out, roped her to a chair (I put about three 25Litre garden dirt bags on top of it so it wasnt able to be moved) and walked inside to prepare her food.
She started barking, so I waited until she had stopped for ten seconds (I came outside after no barking for ten seconds) and did the whole thing. She's already very good at looking at me while I stand with the food, so I said 'yes' and 'ok' at the right moments.
What do you know - my dog who previously didn't finish all her dry food which is mixed into the wet - she ate it all! This has being sort of a fasting day for her, with her only having breakfast at 9am.
It went well.
Question: Do I do this with ALL meals? Or just one a day? It's just in the morning, I DO NOT want to wake the neighbours with her barking, or she WILL get taken away.
On a side note, I met a gorgeous staffy while on my walk! Big smile, happy happy. Dora was off leash at the river beach because there was no one else there, and I was running with her with my earphones in, when she suddenly just runs ahead of me full speed... I got a BIG spook when I turned around and saw the staffy running towards her! I got her on the leash quickly, and everything was good. She was a bit aggressive towards him, but mellowed out after a few minutes.
He had a bit of a jumping problem - when the lady said I could pat him, the second I reached out a hand he made this weird noise, and jumped on me. Haha. Was a great walk, nonetheless.
