Nup, nothing wrong with finding out as much as you can! If we can't do a home check we ask for photos of things like fencing etc.
In My Home Dog Minding
Nothing wrong at all with checking out, by whatever means homes for your pups.
Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.
With Zed's breeder as distance was an issue, I sent her photos of the place and all the fencing to ascertain whether she "thought they were secure enough". Hell, it is all new 6 foot+ fencing so I know it's really dog-proof, but I feel showing the breeder just gives them peace of mind.
Personally MAC, I prefer a breeder like Zed's who showed she really cared where he was going than one who doesn't seem to have any interest in where their pup/dog will be living etc.
Just my opinion, though
She did send me photo's etc and still I checked.
I think I'm getting cynical in my old age.
I want them, the new owners that is, to be interested in the parents and nature of the parents. How they have been raised etc. Too many pet buyers are all about the puppy. They are a blank canvas at this age. All the works ahead of them.
My husband summed it up I guess, he said I'm obsessed with dogs, I live and breath them, I earn an income via dogs and my recreation is thru showing etc, just because others aren't, doesn't mean they can't offer a good home.
No wonder I don't do this very often, I'm a basket case.
Ha ha. Chill MAC, all of this is simply what makes you such a wonderful breeder in my eyes.
You're a basket case - because you care so much. Jeez, wish they all did.
Yeah, I know, God I have a stinker of a headache.
Think I'll chuck the big dogs outside, grab one of the soft dog beds and go and have a lay down in the puppy enclosure.
Cheers guys, and thanks.
Received pics from Boyd puppets new home already. Of him meeting the cat and the family. This cat is Whippet savvy so I felt comfortable with him going to a home with a cat.
Yard looks lovely and as they haven't completed their extension, as in put the floor coverings down her husband has suggested they hold off until his toilet training is underway. Smart man.
I feel relaxed now.
