This is going to sound odd and I haven't quite gotten the thought straight in my head so please bear with me
At the moment there is a huge push towards people believing that crosses are healthier (fluke more than anything IMO) BUT Could it be a sign that things are going backwards?
When I was growing up and in my early teens I didn't even know that pedigreed dogs even existed. I found out when I was around 16 and really started getting into dogs. Anyway my point is is it possible that things have started to go backwards again because of this push that designers & crosses are healthier than pures?
More and more people are going out and buying crosses and showing them off stating that it is the healthiest dog out there. The people selling the hybrid theory (thanks Don... ) are very convincing in their arguement and cannot be swayed from it, even in the face of mountains of scientific research!
I guess what I'm asking is are things going backwards? Are people just not seeing the purebred dogs and only having the DD's and poundies thrust at them? Is it a desire not to learn? Is it the I want it now mentality? How are people being educated about purebred dogs other than those of us who go looking for them or find these forums?
