In My Home Dog Minding
Hi & Welcome! What is your puggy crossed with?
I have a pug x cav
I'm a noob here too!
Welcome and have fun on the forum, I have so far!
we fenced them in seperate yards, but love always finds a way i guess.
anyway that being said i do still feel funny about de-sexing, and feel bad each time i touch my dogs tummy. it was a hassel day to day to put nappies on my dog when she had the rag, but she seemed happy, and i was happy to help. when my partner de-sexed her she was in alot of pain, and yes we did pay extra for the pain meds, but she still cried all night.
also i was told it was dangerous to put a pug under so i was very scared.
my dad does not like to desex his male dogs as he says "he doesnt want half a dog" and i guess he just relates to that aspect of being a man. I also didn't want to take away an animals ability to reproduce, as silly as it sounds, but thats just my preference.
The puppies are very happy and are in loving homes.
we only sold "chicken nugget"male dog for $500, and that money was used to pay for dog food, chipping for all dogs, meds, toys, trading post advert etc.
The family that bought the dog had him for a few months and then dumped him at the pound. He was deemed to be dangerous and was about to be put down. because the family we sold him too did not bother to change the name of the owners we were informed, it cost apx $400 to save chicken nugget and he had really bad kennel cough. but he must of just been scared and nipped another dog. Nugget is a saint and my fav of the litter.
he was rehomed to an older family (one of my fathers friends at his work) and they play with him, walk him and with 3 young teenage girls is loved to death.
we gave one to our cousins, a family of 4 young girls and a teenage boy.
a work friend who lost his last jack russle, so an olderly couple that wanted a new friend.
my partner has doug
and my my sister/dad look after violet the other girl in the litter.
what all this means is that they were not breed for money or planned, as it cost so very much for this experience. and i was very worried that my pug was going to die from giving birth and would not intentionally put my dog in danger. "dogbreedinfo" information helped a lot.
But at the end of the day all dogs have loving homes and familys, which is what i was worried about the most.
