I really dont want to jinx this (LOL)
But I just thought I'd share that Mollie seems to be improving.
Not with other blokes/boys. BUT MY BROTHER!
I have tried the lot. Ignoring her when barking, walking into another room, etc, etc. But when she began barking MUCH more excessively at Billy and full-on lunging (To be honest, she nipped him on more then one occassion) I totally put my foot down.
Everytime she would bark at him. I would tell her extremely firmly "NO" and then relocate her outside. Same with whenever she tried to lunge or nip him.
Its been a few days only, but I see an HONEST improvement! She seems to be 'tolerating' him. Now when he gets up and walks somewhere, she will sometimes run up to his legs and give them a little sniff (NOT lunge nor nip!). She has not been barking ANYWHERE near as much! AND the finale.
She will sometimes allow him to PAT HER when she is comfortable (Usually with me also giving her scritches on the couch)
I can't believe in the swift change. On the net I have been told to only 'ignore' etc basically. But I went with my gut FINALLY and did what I thought would work and it DOES SEEM LIKE IT IS!
My new rule to myself. Listen to advice and absorb it, but go with my head, my heart and most of all my gut!
