I so agree with you Angela. I keept telling my son don't be in a hurry. You've got the rest of your life to carry on your shoulders. Lol.
But alas, growing up is all we want to do at that age. Come to think of it, maybe it's not growing UP that is th issue, but being allowed to do things.
True that, DA. I cant wait to drive, and not ahve a curfew. Sheesh, I'd love to walk home from work at night!
Boundaries are always a good thing and they are there for a reason (in my experience anyway lol).
I refuse to walk anywhere at night on my own, it's too dangerous in this day and age. 10 years ago it wasn't as bad, but way to risky now.
ETA: Work creates a curfew too. You have to make sure that you can always get enough sleep before work the next day.
I have never walked anywhere on my own after dark - I was always too scared. When I was your age Masha, my pop used to meet my bus when I worked late night shopping to walk me home, and I was happy that he did!
I think you were using it more as an example, at least I hope so, but please please please never do it! There are too many stories on the news of women/girls who have done it and found out the hard way it's not safe.
I think my biggest quirk is Im really quiet strong with manners, respect and social behaviours.
respecting elders is something taught very strongly amongst both my husbands and my own culture. I am teaching the same to my own children. Every older woman has the name aunty and every man the name uncle before their names. Eldery people have similar to the name grandma grandpa placed before their names aswell.
It doesn't lessen the importance of their actual blood relatives as it is a different word used.
My 4 year old knows to offer her seat to an older person (no one ever really takes though it or if they do they have her on their lap). I guess she learns alot from watching us.
Also things have to be in their place, I can't rest if they aren't.
I also won't eat in public.
Im so happy to see im not the only one with neatness and eating issues lol.
I don't think I have any quirks as I am perfect.....lmao
Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.
I remembered another one when I got into bed last night and cracked ze ankles - I always kick the doona off my feet, even in winter! I suffer from hot feet and sometimes it's so bad I can't sleep. In summer I often just have a double doona turned sideways so my feet are always uncovered.
I keep rememberring mine! Another is that I ALWAYS say please and thank you.... again, working at maccas has molded that. I HATE it when people dont say please or thank you, it just makes me wanna punch 'em. Most of the customers just say "Gimme a (insert burger),(insert drink), (insert anything else they want)." No please, no nothing. Has it ever occured to them that I DONT want to give anything to a bunch of manner-less pigs??? Arrgh. Sorry for the rant. I'll leave this thread now in case I takeover with a ten post rant
