This last few days has been a bit exciting in SA. Look out Eastern States. We've had two drivers killed by fallen trees (or driving into a tree across the road at speed), we've had coppers up those roads sh tting themselves because bits of tree were going everywhere.
It was so windy on Saturday night that a large piece of my neighbour across the road - tree fell - fortunately most of it stayed in his front yard but it would have damaged a person or car if it had landed on one.
The wind on Saturday night, despite being fierce and from the south, was drowned out by fireworks to the North. And apparently those fireworks displays were crap unless you were right close to the fence ie front row. But we heard them. Frosty didn't seem scared but she loudly proclaimed them "wrong" - the same as beach umbrellas and horses on the beach are "wrong". After the fireworks were done, we went to bed and Frosty elected to sleep on my bed with me and I didn't object, though I made sure I had enough bed for me this time. Anyway about half way through the night one or both of us wriggled, Frosty stretched and fell off the bed. It's pretty close to the floor so no damage - but it freaked her out and I think she was out the door before she woke up and realised where she was going. She opted for her bed for the rest of the night. And it was still so windy Sunday morning neither of us wanted to go for a walk. It's been better but still with fierce gusts today. And my car looks like someone has sprayed it with sticky dirt. It's brown. It's supposed to be white. So now I have to find time to wash it. I guess I get to find out if I can get it through my back gates and onto my back lawn. Why waste the water?
Any place near an open window is also covered in dirt. As is my stove - it comes down the chimney. Sigh. But the wind is not quite done yet.

note: the wind speeds are in Knots. You can roughly double for km/h.
And the weekend is going to be windy and wet. I knew there was some reason I didn't want to go on the trip to Mt Gambier.
