I couldnt resist buying the little lab X retriever in the pet store, he was all by himself. Bailey is now 5 months and not long ago i noticed his hips clicking when we went out for our walks. so i got it checked out and it wasnt very good news. One week after going to the vet bailey started limping on his left front paw concerned i took him back to the vet which they said could be a sprain. but 2 weeks went passed and he was still limping and his hips werent getting any better so the best option was too get xrays. i did get another opinion from another vetenarian and he said the best option was to go ahead with the xrays because he could feel a little discomfort in bailey's hips, i did the xrays which set me back quite a bit as i am only just starting my first year in university this year. i spoke to the pet store n asked if there was any records from the breeder and they said they werent able to verify that kind of information and they hadnt had any problems before. is it possible that Bailey could have had genetical predisposition to the condition? And would this have needed to be outlined by the breeder/pet store. not trying to point the finger but just want to assess my options before i spend 6,000+ for operations which is going to be a struggle but i know ill do whatever i can for bailey's health. There has to be a way around it. Is dog medication that expensive? we went back today and it wasnt good news, i now have an appointment with a surgeon to find out what he needs, apparently he may need 3 operations. and the vetenarian gave me pain relief tablets which cost $94. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
