I have stumbled across your forum and would love to get some advice for my mother. Her rottweiler has recently been diagnosed with addison's disease. has anyone else dealt with this in a pet? It is a disease humans get and the dog is on human medication and huge amounts which is getting a bit expensive for my mum. He has also have regular blood tests etc and in general doesn't seem himself. This has been going on for a few weeks now. He has had hair loss etc and seems to be getting his hair back now. Apparently dogs with this disease have huge problems regulating their own body temp and on one of our hot QLD days mum had him in front of a fan with a damp towel over him to keep him cool in the ridiculous heat but he then had a seizure because his body temp dropped dramatically all of a sudden (it was a stinking hot day).
So I suppose I am looking for anyone who has experience with this. Any tips? Does he have a good outlook? He is about 5 years old and honestly I think my mum loves him more than us kids lol, I don't know what she would do if anything happens to him... I dread the day actually
