Don't really like Cavaliers much not my style of dog, the reason I said gentle is that I don't want something that will rip my cats apart like the JRT did.
Wouldn't necessarily have to come help feed, could walk as far as the feed shed if it so desired, what I am not looking for is an overly energetic dog that spends it whole time chasing anything that moves, or even looks like it moves.
Have seen a few pugs around horsey homes and they always seemed so happy little dogs.
Will speak to a few breeders and see what they think, don't want to rush into it, just sticking my toes in the water, and when we move to NZ we are only moving onto 10acres, with many less horses, still taking all the cats and dogs though.
Pfft someone asked me what I am going to do with my cats and dogs when I move, am I going to put them down???? My answer wasn't exactly polite, asked them if they moved would they leave their children or put them down, don't think it went down well, we even have to take a feral who has decided it wants to be a domesticated cat with us, he is now desexed and part of the family.
