Bella won't go near her crate at the moment, but she'll go in Charlie's bigger one. I'll have to try encouraging her with treats soon but it's hard when greedy guts Charlie tries to push her out of the way to get them!
Just wanted to give an update on how our training is going, as I'm super excited at the moment!
Charlie has no probs. he's happy to go in either crate.
Miss Bella wouldn't go near them. I tried feeding her in there, giving her chicken wings in there, enticing her in with treats, toys, etct etc etc. She hated it and wouldn't go near it.
So I decided to try another tactic. I put her blanket on the floor and have been teaching her to go sit on it, using the command "in your crate". Then I started putting the crate on the edge of the blanket with the door open, but ignored the actual crate and just kept telling her to sit on the blanket. We've just been working on it - and she actually went in the crate!!!!!!!! She won't stay in there at the moment, but she went in it and that's all that matters at the moment!
I've currently got the crate at my feet, with the blanket half in it, half on the floor. Guess who's currently curled up on the blanket right up against the door of the crate happily chewing on her Nylabone.....
