Okay, as most of you guys know, my brother Billy, abused Mollie when she was a baby, resulting in her absolutely hating him and she being terrified of boys and most people.
Also, as you guys may know, I have been working with her on 1-on-1 socialisation with certain people slowly. The only people I have been working with her on are 2 adults and Lily, an 8yr old girl of whom comes over to play with my little brother.
Anyway, getting to the point!
Mollie is getting good with adults, as long as she is able to sniff them for awhile without them making sudden movements – she is better with females. She is great with babies-toddlers, she sits and lets them pat her with grubby hands
But.. Mollie’s barking at Billy has increased a lot.
Billy pushed me yesterday as he walked past me, and Mollie all of sudden flew after him, barking like crazy, chasing him until he was in his bedroom and then Mollie came back to me.
Is this protectiveness? Is this just aggression? What should I do?
The same thing happened again today. Billy hit Ned (5yr old brother) and Mollie want absolutely NUTS, chasing after Billy and barking like crazy.
What do I do? Do I ignore it? Do I tell her “no”?
Billy deserves this treatment, Mollie has every right to think he is ‘danger’. BUT.
I am scared she is going to chase all boys now and I am afraid she might bite a boy if he was too scare or harm her.
I need to find a boy around 10 or something who is KIND enough to be kind to Mollie! I have tried to persuade some of Billy’s friends, but they follow eachother like sheeps and be mean to Mollie > GRR. I am sick of boys who think they can abuse or scare my pet!
