Well, mostly she is facing away from me, or if she's not, she will continue growling while eating the bone. However, the 'me eating the bone' thing has helped heaps, I can even put it in front of her after eating it and she won't touch it. However, if I am standing up, and then put the bone in front of her, she will normally take it ( and I use growling as an alternative to constantly saying 'no, my bone' - I find it works a lot better, probably because it is in her language, not mine). If I try to pull the bone away, she growls harder, if I try to pull her away, the mouth comes open. As for the eye contact, I will always instinctively hold eye contact with my dogs, and sometimes (no laughing) people if I am in a confrontation. It happened with the rawhide chew the other day! I was very surprised, because she never did this before with a chew, but she may have figured out it was food and not a toy. But back to the topic, if I am standing up, she doesn't take me as seriously as when I am on all fours, growling at her. What should I do with this annoying obstacle?
p.s. Devil's Advocate: what does raw meat taste like?
