I had a very upsetting night last night researching the LDH. I stumbled on a post in another forum and decided to look around the internet a bit, for a different perspective, and found a thread on Bub Hub about it. Same story, I'm afraid, according to the posts very few dogs make it out alive, and those there, kept in appalling conditions, no blankets while there is a shed full of blankets/beds not being used. What made it even more upsetting was the fact that this thread was started in 2006!!!! It appears nothing has changed.
I was just wondering, not being from Victoria, is this common knowledge down there or is it not widely known what happens to dogs in the LDH.
Have any members on here ever actually visited the LDH to report first hand what the conditions are like in there?
What can be done to help those poor helpless souls that appear to be disposed of like they are just garbage? I was just so shocked that this kind of thing could still happening to 2010. It's not the dark ages anymore, there are so many rescue groups out there to help. There is no excuse for having such a high euth rate - None.
If I am mistaken about the LDH, then PLEASE correct me as it would give me great pleasure to be wrong about this.
