Wild animals will never be tammed.I would say because the issue is not really "cruelty or abuse" related. The issue with anthropomorphism is really to do with behavioural problems and the outcomes of such treatment.
A happy balanced dog has its needs met. If we treat them as if they are a complete different species, and this includes behaviour management and training, then the end result is normally not a happy balanced dog.
Dogs do not have the capacity of cognitive reason as we do. They are not humans. They are dogs.
It reminds me of the recent attack by a tamed monkey in the US. The monkey, essentially a wild animal, was treated like a little human and this eventually saw it rip a woman's face off and almost kill her. Anaimals are not humans.
Sure, there is nothing wrong with the occassional bit of fun for a photo opportunity or a fund raising event. But where do people draw the line. Today it is acceptable and becoming more so, to dress up dogs in cute clothes, tomorrow it may be dogs having their ears pierced.
A happy dog is one that has its needs met. A sad person is someone who uses a dog as a substitute for their happiness and forgets that the dog doesn't get anything out of it. As I said, people dress up dogs for purely selfish reasons. It doesn't do anything for the dog, it only serves to make the human happy.
