That's great.Millie is a resource guarder and will protect her food from him and have a go at him if he comes too close - BUT I can walk into the middle of a full on barney without saying a word and she will stop immediately. Then she will nose her food towards me, Jethro will sit and watch.
No, you're NOT alpha dog. You're a human who has obviously set good examples to Millie as a good leader - and she follows. That is exactly the way things should be. It's the same with my dogs. They have things between one another, but I am the one who sets the rules and guides them. I am the one who decides who will eat first for example. I am the one who creates the harmony at my home. All the dogs need is ballance and harmony, when they lack in it - problems occur. I do not nor ever will consider myself a "top dog", as I am not. But if you like that label - go for itAm I 'alpha' dog or is Millie? Or am I reading to much into it and Millie is top dog and I am just another resource?
