Back in my younger days i had a rotty (Hooch RIP) that used to share inside with me, he was always good toilet training wise.
Anyhow i went out clubbing with a mate and we got home drunk around 3am. Stumbling around in the dark my mate was attempting to throw some music on from my new stereo (3 weeks old). I hear him say its all wet here, so on with lights here is my mate laying in a damp spot and my new stereo is glistening with yellow droplets.
Yes my dog had sprayed my new stereo.
I whipped down to the stereo guys to see if there was anyway of salvaging it. They said they were pretty busy and it would take a couple of weeks. Once the smell in thier workshop increased they quickly dismantled it and give it a good cleanout, had it back in 48 hours. All functions worked bar the twin tape deck. I still have the stereo today using it in the garage for cd's and radio.
We had a rottweiler with a tail and they tend to sweep everything off the coffee table with their bum wiggling tail action...he was still an inside dog and spent his time with me/us.
My Terry was an outside dog. We couldn't toilet train him. On hot days we'd drag the water cooler out for him and gently hold him so he cooled down. He loved being outside anyway, very energetic pup he was.
I'm not trying to be argumentive but i must ask this
Most of the comments i had read on here have suggested ignoring BYB and puppy mills. Now if you want a particular breed of dog then you could also probably cross out rescuing in some cases. This would leave buying the breed from a reputable breeder, this does not come cheaply, hence my comment about the unemployed.
How else is a fulltime worker supposed to have a dog?
Pet peeves for me:
-People who don't take responsibility for their actions.
-Selfish people who have no consideration for others.
-People with no respect for the law.
But he bashes the walls with his arms, jumps so much his body literally leaves the bed. He's a shocker. Have since discovered that his father had major problems like this and would sleep downstairs in their qlder home, or else none of the family could get to sleep, it was that bad. So I really want him to go to the sleep clinic!!!
As you can see after my rant, any dog would be quieter IMO.
