Oh I have been so wrapped up in my own whinging I missed your thread.
We sold our newly built home to buy this place that is 65 years old. I just love old homes, as I feel they have far more character, feel and stories to tell than flash new ones.
Wow, your place is 100 years old. I'd love it!!! Let me loose there!
Space is often an issue though in the older homes, I think.
This is the first house I've ever had of this age, GSD's, and yep, the laundry is outside off the back deck. Can access it completely undercover, but sheesh, it was a spin-out when I realised where the laundry was.
After being here for over 6 months now, I actually love where it is. I can do washing (and in winter drying) through the night when electricity is cheaper, and the sound can not be heard anywhere in the house. A massive bonus with sleeping children!
I like the IDEA of an outside laundry but I don't think I WANT one. It sounds so retro to hear outside laundry but then I think of all that I use my laundry for and I get over it REAL quick! LOL!
I've heard wonderful things about said chat thread
Well I wish for you to get your attic space and inside laundry too
Like DA I am a sucker for the old Victorian homes.. normally they have beautiful large bedrooms and fire places and gorgeous ceilings, but teeny living areas and bathrooms.
You people need indoor laundries? What do you do now? Beat your clothes on rocks?
