People have a right to do as they please as long as it is legal - whether it is morally right - that is another story!
People will always have the right to choose exactly what they want.
I think the issue comes down largely to so many of those purchasers being duped. They think they are getting just what they want but what they're really getting turns out completely different, due to the nature of genetices etc etc.
To many people get all defensive about it whilst staying ignorant of teh science involved.
Hence too many DD types needing re-homing once they grow. People sometimes overlook the welfare issues inherent in the process for the sake of saying that "this is what I want".
Im starting to read some of your posts and fail to see what you are trying to gain from them? You are offering no advice or information? Nor are you seeking any.
I would appreciate you not going through my posts to try and start an argument. If my posts bother you so much, for Heaven's sake just put me on ignore. Every single time you reply to something I say you are extremely rude, tell me to grow up, condescend me. You don't like me. That's fine. Just leave the schoolyard stuff where it belongs. In the schoolyard.
Please place me on ignore if I annoy you that much. It will make the forums a lot more enjoyable for you.
I think that when it comes to buying dogs it's the person's right to choose whatever dog they want. They may choose a Spoodle like my boyfriend's family did. If this is what their hearts are set on, they should go for it! However I do think that a responsible owner should research different options and all kinds of breeds OR mixes before they buy them.
I mean of course I would prefer that people not buy from pet shops and I would encourage everyone to go to the pound or go to a breeder with a waiting list, but in the end it's up to the individual.
Personally with Keeda I did the wrong thing and it could have turned out VERY badly. I was in high school and wanted a dog very badly, so my friends at school decided to get me a puppy for my Birthday. I convinced my parents to let me have one at the last minute (it's a long story, I did the wrong thing there), and then my friends and I had to rush on a Friday during school, looking through the paper and the Quokka on the internet to find a puppy - pretty much ANY puppy - as I HAD to bring a dog back that night (as I said, it was complicated >.< And stupid). We found Keeda in the Quokka advertised for $100, she was the last of her litter, we rushed there straight after school and picked her up the same day.
Am I proud of how it happened? Heck no, I would never do this again. I didn't do any research, I didn't even know what a Kelpie or ACD looked like (she's a Kelpie/ACD/beagle mix). I've never had a dog before or had many knowledgeable friends who did and could knock some sense into us. I am very grateful for Keeda and wouldn't take it back if I could go back in time, she's the best dog I could ask for. But if I met my younger self today doing the same thing I would certainly try to convince her to stop and do this properly - research the type of dog I want, then go to a pound or rescue!
Now that you've said your piece, I'd like to get this thread back on track. Anything you have to say to me in regards to my real life that you post in the public will be reported. So PM me if you want to tell me I'm cruel, nasty, liar etc. It is no one else's business if we do not get along and they should not have to listen to us quarrel. It's unfair.
