Just thought i'd introduce myself after finding this forum today! I'm Keyarna, 20 years old in January and live in Boyne Island, QLD. Biggest animal lover you will ever meet, and getting my first ever pup in Febuary.
I have been literally waiting for this moment for over 16 years. All my life i've wanted a dog but parents had been dead set against it and I think my childhood was alot less fulfilling because of it, anyone who knows me understands animals are my life, but ultimately I know it was their decision and I respect that.
But now, with my partner and I being financially able for ourselves, we have decided to take the leap. For the past however many years I was planning to get a Shepherd, but the breeder I am set on is not having a litter anytime soon, so I am waiting on her before I delve in Shepherds. I have always wanted a GSP aswell, so we decided this would be the ideal time. We are completely prepared for a pup and it will be a nice learning curve in preparing for the Shepherd, not that we don't know how to care for or handle a dog (hell, i've been reading about all things dog since I COULD read xD), but being our first i'm sure there will still be many things to learn.
Anyway, onto the details! We have placed a deposit down for a pup from Heiderst, the bitch whelped on the 14th December. I am a little worried buying from show lines, as we do wish to train him/her for the field as #1 priority, but also want to show. I have asked alot of questions though and done research into the pedigree, and I do know there is a few hunting dogs in there. Raylene (the breeder) has confirmed the deposit is completely refundable if we're not happy.
So without further ado, meet the soon to be parents:
SIRE: Australian Grand Ch. / Canadian Ch. Flower Creek Takn Care of Business (Imp USA) "Cruiser"
DAM: Australian Ch. Heiderst Be Charmed "Sophie"
I won't post the photos here incase I get in trouble for not having permission, but you can see them here under current campaigners: Welcome to Heiderst German Shorthaired Pointers.
I'm just so excited, we already have everything ready to go, toys, food, bowls, a stash of money away for vet bills etc. Now we just need to wait until our little guy or girl is ready to go. Here is the only photo I have so far of the litter:
