We have changed the route of our daily walk, and are now walking along a really busy easement/dog walking pathway (on lead). Mulli gets so excited every time she sees another dog, but the more dogs we pass the more she's starting to not almost burst a blood vessel to go and say hello! She is so eager to play and always friendly and we have lots of laughs with others out for a walk.
This morning, as we approached a huge german shepard, she once again started to get excited, but this dog seemed to become really vicious towards her and I was very thankful it was on a lead, and it's owner had firm control, and actually made it lay down very quickly.
I just kept walking giving them a wide berth and kept Mulli alongside, the whole time she was wagging her tail and trying to get closer to the dog - showing no signs at all of backing off when the GSD looked like it would attack her given half the chance. I realise I'm presuming that's what the dog could have done, I don't know, but it worried me a little that Mulli didn't seem wary or warned off by the behaviour at all. I also realise that I need to have firm control of her whilst on the lead - we're getting there! But as for her friendly reaction to what seemed like an extremely unfriendly dog - is that normal?
