when she is inside fully at nights. At the moment she is still with the others. Before dog forums I always thought the idea cruel. I never understood it. I felt that my FIL crating the dogs at night was cruel too, better off on a chain I thought. They have room to take a few steps, turn around etc in their crates and I have totally changed my mind.
Am thinking it is going to be so much easier to crate Jodi at nights in our room till she is past the chewing everything stage. She can then graduate, like every other inside dog we have had to her bed on the floor, waking us to go out when needed. Jodi will of course be toileted in the night whilst crated, Pretty goes out a couple of times.
I may also have it big enough to use outside if she tends to want to be a car follower when we go out. Pretty isn't and is content to just wave goodbye. Jodi may or may not turn out to be the same.
The treatments I will be having will necessitate a full day away probably weekly or fortnightly. I am hoping she will be content just to be under the house with Pretty. I really do not want her crated for that amount of day time. Possibly better to have her in the laundry if that is the case. Just looking at worst case scenarios as I find that if you factor them in it rarely happens that you have to use them.
