I have no objection to practical dog clothes. Coats are necessary for some breeds in cool climates. Even though we live in the tropics my Whippet has a coat to wear on the occasional cold day in Winter.
Sometimes even boots serve a practical purpose. A friend in Iceland always walked her dog in boots in certain Winter weather conditions to protect his feet. Dogs working in rough, rocky terrain can also benefit from wearing boots.
I personally dislike seeing dogs in frilly tutus or whatever or dressed in tough guy leather jackets. These are of no benefit to the animal and some poor dogs look very uncomfortable wearing them. These dogs are dressed simply to entertain humans. It's a bit like performing animals in the circus. People roar with laughter when a bear or an elephant in a frilly skirt performs tricks that immitate human actions. I don't laugh. It makes me ashamed to be human and I feel very sad.
We all have our own personal moral code. I was 7 years old the last time I went to a circus and I was taken home half way through the show because the Elephants in fancy dress performing demeaning tricks made me cry and I said I hoped the mangy lions would kill the horrible trainer with the whip. Seeing dogs dressed up like toys or miniature humans upsets me in the same way.
Just my personal opinion. Others must make their own choices according to their own moral code.
Let me know if I have broken any of your rules and I'll delete this post.
