I see the heart specialist this arvo to see if I am able to tollerate one of the drugs with chemo that can affect the heart. Tomorrow I go in yet again to have a picc line placed. This is like a permanent cannula, tubing snakes around in the vein to near the heart, so that blood can be taken, drugs given without the problem of finding a vein to do it all the time. Many request it as it makes it so much easier for the patient as well as the nurses. Some of the drugs are (obviously) very toxic and if they "tissue out" (leak into surrounding tissues from a vein) they can cause problems. The line avoids all that though it has to have daily care.
Hmmm, dangly things on my arm, new puppy toys eerrrrk. There is a waterproof cover for showering etc and I may wear a long sleeved shirt when with them. I do this with the birds due to their claws so it is no biggy. Thinking a pull on elasticy thing like a cut up tube of a sock might be the go too.
