The breeder of my whippet dog phoned regarding a 15mth old show bitch (whippet) up for sale (she knows I've been looking). The bitches owners advertised her as pet home only so I didn't take any notice of the ad, but my boys breeder picked up on the prefix straight away. I have seen her and think she's a very nice type. So I contacted the owners & they would sell her to me for showing.
Upon further discussions with the owners they are having trouble running between three different breed rings and made the decision to not continue with the whippets.
However I have heard that she howls when separated from her brother - do I want to take that on? Would I be prepared to work on getting her past that? She has wonderful bloodlines....
Just don't know what to do. Thinking I'm going to ask if she could have a trial weekend with us. See how she fits in with the current doggy dynamics.
Really like the idea of an adult, but would of preferred her around the 6mth age that way she would slot in as the underdog with no problems at all.
But gotta love those bloodlines. And what's wrong with me? I train other people's dogs with problems, I should look at this the same way. I think I've just gotten to used to leading a quiet life when I come home.
Grrr... just don't know which way to turn. They've said I can look at her Sunday. Any thoughts??
