Just to give a perspective.
Many here have birds.
If you went to a bird board with a question that those there have answered so many, many times but you didn't know, were genuinely uneducated, had no clue. how would you feel? If attacked for your lack of knowledge or well intentioned ignorance?
My pair have eggs, what do I do now.
Why did you not separate them? Why give a nest box as that only encourages nesting? Do you know how to hand feed if you need to pull one? incubator? what about splayed leg? Don't take eggs away as they are replaced. Attack....... as you should know all this.
I feed my bird seed, does it need anything else? FFS you have never heard of fatty tumours, liver, kidney disease from an all seed or all pellet diet? That caged birds add many years to their lives with a diet of grains, veges, pellets and some seed? That they need interaction? Foraging? Sand perches and sheets cause sores? They need toys in there to help with boredom?
I bought a new bird but they do not get on....No quarantine? Illnesses get passed on by air and contact and you could kill all yours. You put a new one straight in the bloody cage? What a moron. Separate cages, gradual out of cage time (supervised) will then see if they get on and could avoid injury.
etc etc etc.
My point here is that many come here with situations that we, as a group can be knowledgeable about. Not all will know of puppy farms, that buying from a pet shop encourages replacement from those sources in some cases.
Education is the key.
