I need help!
I'm new to this forum, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
My partner and I rescued a Kelpie cross from the RSPCA just last weekend. He is almost 2.5 years old and we love him to bits!
He is great with people, kids and other dogs. The first day we got him we took him the the local dog park and he was a hit! He even came to us when we called him! On his first day!
Although when we were taking him home from the RSPCA, he was very skittish in the car. I put it down to nerves and excitement. Every car that would go past, he would lunge for it, trying to grab it. We've taken him for his twice daily walks since last Saturday and he still lunges. We've noticed he will only go for the fast moving cars, not motorbikes, cyclists or slow cars.
I'm putting it down to his herding instinct, but we can't take him for a proper walk without him choking to death or getting hurt.
Any training tips would be really helpful!
