That's what I'm wondering about. Teddy B Bear mentioned poor Teddy's op may cost up to $3500. That's a figure I don't want on my credit card or anywhere else.
So I was thinking about looking into it just for the basics, as in a major operation from illness or an accident etc. Newfoundlands are a large dog and could possibly have some joint problems down the track. My 14 year old is 6 foot 7 tall, and he has to have 2 ops in the next 12 months because of his rapid growth. Without insurance that could cost us anywhere up to $16K!!!
Just don't want to find ourselves in that position should a dog require surgery for anything.
It's a toss-up, but i do think I will look into it further.
