I love where we live in Tasmania. We recently sold a brand new home to buy an ancient one. Have good days and bad days, and sometimes wonder if we have taken on more than we can chew this time! Then the sun comes out from the drizzle, the birds are all around me and the sound is like magic - then I know we will turn this place into a paradise just as much as the last one. HAS to be the last reno job EVER though. I'm getting too old and too tired for this. On average it takes us 2 years to complete a renovation from start to finish. Only been here about 5 months, so have a lot in front of me.
That's the uncontented part BTW. I am always dirty lately, covered in paint or plaster! LOL. But when I walk out the side deck and watch the river flowing across the road and the boats just ambling along, I feel great, yes.
It has been a VERY hard year. Job losses over and over, Salem our cat dying, we were robbed and lost our car, my son's operations, the horrible happening with Zed, the list just goes on...
But now we have Simba (new cat) and soon to have Wolfgang/Inca, Christmas is around the corner and a new year is soon to begin. I believe it will be a better one. I also realise I am far more fortunate than many, and try not to forget that.
Everything happens for a reason, so I just have to learn from each and every hardship. Don't we all.
Yes I know, I should take up novel writing...LOL.
