is it tomorrow yet?
sounds very busy there!!! Does it take long to feed everyone and do you have to keep them separate?
Yes it takes forever to feed the gang. Some have puppy food, some have skin sensitive food, some have low fat skin sensitive food, some have senior food....and thats just the dry food. Wet comes in a variety (I mix it together with the dry for each meal) again, some have obese wet food, some have chicken wet food, and 3 days a week I make a concoction, like today.....1 x whole bbq chook through the mincer machine. Then in the food processor 2 x coz lettuce, 6 eggs (shells and all), 1 x tablesppon manuka honey, 3 x cheese slices, 1/2 cup oats, 1/3 cup wheatgerm, 1 x dessert spoon flaxseed oil, 2 x dessert spoons flaxseed grain, 1 x large sweet potato 3 x green apples, tin of tuna and a good dollop or two of yoghurt. Mix all together with 1 x cup cooked brown rice and voila, wet food!!!!
Then some have vitamin E, some have pet ark calm, some have rescue remedy, some have pro biotic, some have osteo support tablets and some have the whole gammet. This all happens twice a day for most and for some three times a day!!
So, when people call while I am preparing the meals, I tell them I have to call back, which they often don't get, I mean......how hard is it to throw a few biscuits in a bowl????? lol
I feed my 5 together, I generally feed another 5 or 6 together, & 2 together and another 2 together and the odd one on their own. I do stand there watching the whole time and bowls are removed the moment they are finished. They learn pretty quickly that if they walk away from their food it is picked up with one more attempt before putting it in the fridge for the next meal, but they all love their food, so rarely do we have anyone reject meals.
See you Elwood, have a safe flight and a wonderful life my friend......xxxxxx
Elwood is such a beautiful boy, hope he has a wonderful life at his new home!
