Zed seems to have this issue with water.
He is a true water-dog. Loves it, goes silly. Lol.
He hasn't shown any interest in hoses etc around the place, but have discovered it's when you turn the darned things on!
Breeder has explained that she found it easier to lock him up when she was hosing anywhere, as sooner or later when he lunges and snaps at the water coming out the nozzle he would accidentally get her...sigh.
Geez I wish owners would deal with these things straight away when they crop up. But I guess when you've got a fair number of them running around it's easier to just lock the problem up. However, that is not my way of doing things, so I've got to re-train him with this.
My immediate thought is to start doing the hosing when OH is home. So I (or OH) can put him on leash, tell him 'no' everytime he lunges, and try to teach him to sit quietly without lunging etc. If that works, slowly move him closer to the nozzle when hosing; then later let him off leash etc...
Any other ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
