I think a vicious circle is easy to continue here. Experienced folk making presumtions and newcomers being arrogant is not a good mix in any sport or hobby.
People entering a new hobby or sport and claiming to know more than everyone else is perhaps one reason experienced people become jaded, and even elitist...?
And thus it continues.
Experienced and new folk equally need to keep open minds and eyes, as presumptions and arrogance don't help anyone. The difference with dog owning or breeding as opposed to other hobbies is the addition of animal welfare issues adds a level of emotion that is much higher than other hobbies.
I would also beg to differ on a simple note culprit. We have BYBers - whether registered or not - because there are folks out there whose greed and arrogance outweighs their conscience and morals and they are prepared to put profit before animal welfare.
