howdy.. just came across this forum today, figured i'd join up as i might need some advice in days to come as we are bringing home our gorgeous mixed breed rescue dog today!
she still needs a little weight perhaps, and she has a rash down her neck - carer says from fleas, it looks to be clearing, but will take her to the vet this week to be sure all is ok.. she has had a bout of kennel cough as well, so i do hope she is well over that, we will have her last dose of antibiotics to give her tonight.
apart from that, she looks like she has some greyhound in her perhaps, would account for the body shape, the short smooth brindle coat, and the long slender legs - she's a tall girl! as for the rest? who knows she's a pretty, soft, gentle girl, and smart too, still fairly young.. she was found wandering the streets apparently, and was rescued from death row..
we also have two cats, also rescues.. Archibald and Reginald have their quirks, they really did have a bad start in life, but their original rescuer had a dog, so our new dog should not come as too much of a surprise to them, and the first foster home the dog was homed in had two cats, and she was good with them. we have moved all cat bowls to a high bench well out of the dog's way..
we really must settle on a name for her... she does not respond to the name she was given on rescue.
anyway.. i have typed a novelette here.. i'm not always this wordy! seeya round the forum...
