Yeah same, never call dogs mutts Xanthe! It makes me really sad.

Neither, im sorry to say this but i am really passionate about dogs and absolutely hate them being called anything such as mutts and mongrels.
And anyway, there are plenty of purebreed breeders who do that for the sake of money anyway. I see your point, but I don't agree with kinda offensive attitude.
That's very funny, cause just about ALL pure breeds became pure by mixing one with another creating something new that's later been registered by FCI or ACA or whatever. First there was a mongrel, then we created purebreeds. So, you can't really be purist hehe. Call them whatever you want, but remember also they're somebody's pet too and we love them the way they are - mongrel, mutt, mix...I am a purist so i will call whatever dog that is mixed with another (like these cross breds) whatever i like. Would you prefer me to call them mongrols?

I think some people should really ask themselves why they have a dog as a pet. Is it a status symbol, a show piece, or a loved family member?
German Shepherd every day of the week ........
I have just registered and this thread caught my eye.I love most dogs but my favourite breed is the Boxer.Over the years I have had four, three females and a male. All have been lovely natured, loyal and full of energy. All have lived 12 years and two died of cancer. My vet tells me that 12 years is a good life span for this breed but each time I lost one I was heartbroken and vowed to get another breed with a longer life expectancy. However when it came to getting a new dog I couldn't go past this breed.
I adore labs, but also have a very soft spot for blue heelers
