Yes very hard to do. However if the car repairs are expensive the kids become the priority and given there was no blame by the driver it is something that the insurers could work out. That is what insurance is for, either the car insurance or the owner of the dogs house insurance. Might also make the owner of the dog more careful with any future dogs, especially if in their minds they still blame the driver. Still a horrible situation to be in. It actually is very wrong that they showed no responsibility for any damage that was caused. I know it was incredibly upsetting at the time but still wrong that they wouldnt even talk to the driver of the car especially as there were kids in the car! and ask if she and her kids were not hurt. The whole thing is wrong.
