Doggy cologne.... Do you use it? Are they generally safe? Side effects and reactions?
So Zeus and Jake were outdoor dogs and cologne and the likes were useless (never actually even tried them) as the dogs enjoyed several daily dips in our dam.... Max is predominately an indoor dog but I'm finding THAT smell is starting to find its way into our home despite baths and weekly washing of toys, bed blankets, jumpers etc. Came home today and opened the front door and WHAM that dog smell hit me in the face like a football boot.... And whe have tiles, max is not allowed on carpeted areas (at least until I can trust him with not having toileting accidents). Now he was only bathed yesterday and his bedding and toys etc washed yesterday as well.
I've never used colognes or scented shampoos, I use dermcare aloveen shampoo and conditioner but these smell great....for the first day then it does nothing to control the natural dog smell after that. Obviously I can't wash him everyday so what do other people with indoor dogs use to keep that doggy smell to a minimum? Max has already shown signs of skin sensitivity and I know that to some degree it will be trial and error but does anyone know of perhaps an all natural but long lasting product to help control the "dog definitely lives indoors" smell?
