Hey Pooch Lovers,
It’s been a busy week and a half for me – two interesting dog interactions which have made me really have to put my thinking cap on. You were all great in responding to my first situation .. now here’s the second. I thought it would be a good one to post. I’m kinda gonna do this strangely and not tell you what I did, but I’d love to know (hypothetically) what you all might have done …. So here goes:
I was driving home after a week away and was about 4 hours into a 6 hour trip – mostly through very isolated country areas where pig hunting by locals and visitors is a common and regular activity. Of course with that comes ‘Pigging Dogs’. I don’t know how people feel about that – it could be a post all in itself I guess?
So I had already closely avoided hitting 3 Roos, 1 of which really got my heart going, very very very close! I saw something on the side of the highway which I thought may have been a deer? Roo? .. couldn’t tell? I got closer and slowed right down to see a ‘Pigging Dog’ walking on the side of the highway. He had his chest plate on and was clearly covered in blood – pigging dogs will always have blood over them and their chest plates after being on the ‘hunt’. He definitely seemed to have been recently on the hunt.
It was a bit confronting and I didn’t really know what to do? It seemed likely that he was separated from his owner … There was no one within cooee!
What do you guys reckon? I thought it might be interesting to ask what you would do?
Happy to be back at home with my Loles and Zep.
