    Default Expensive Dog Medication

My dog is on very expensive heart medication (he is a big dog) and i just wanted to know if anyone knows if there is a "discount" type of place where i can get this medication from. I am currenlty paying $210 for 100 tablets and he needs 2 per day. I don't mind paying this as he is not "just" a dog.... Thanks.

Have a look at some of the online pet supplies, I think Pet Supplies - Veterinary Supplies, Dog and Cats Supplies, Horse meds, Bird, Fish and Reptile Supplies will do prescription meds if your veterinarian faxes them a prescription according to Australian law. There's other online places that do the same thing.

I've got stuff from vetnpet direct - it's a good website. I don't know about the expensive meds. Sometimes you can get an equivalent over the counter from the chemist (eg antihistamines) - your vet should be able to help with that.

sometimes you can get it cheaper from the chemist if it is on the PBS - but that means the Australian tax payer (me) is helping to pay for it. And you have to find a GP to prescribe it for your dog - which is tricky.
